What We Do

LongArm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit planted in the heart of Malawi, Africa. It was started as a place that can provide vulnerable abandoned & surrendered children their basic human rights & needs.

Our Mission

To be a light of redeeming love to those in the community, and nearby villages of Lilongwe, and to the children left to fend for themselves. Family preservation is our goal, and if that is not possible, we hope to be a bridge in bringing children into the loving care of adoptive families.

Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
— Psalm 82:3

What We’ve Achieved

Over the last year of LongArms operation, we have built a home for a single mother of 7, and are in the early stages of building a home for a widowed grandmother who is caring for her 11 grandchildren. One of whom is in the care of LongArm.

We strive to not only provide a safe haven for children who are abandoned or surrendered, but our main focus is family preservation. Families belong together, and poverty shouldn’t stand in the way.

If we are able to facilitate that, we will always make every reasonable effort.

Keeping families together is the heart of what we do.

Sometimes that will look like providing monthly formula and basic needs for families in crisis, or even reunification of children whose families just needed to get on their feet.

We want to not only build up families but also build up Malawi.

Our passion has led us to bring countless bicycles to remote villages outside of Lilongwe, helping single-head households or child-led households, have life-saving transportation, as well as means for providing for their families, through agriculture.

We hope to start a food forest in each village within the district we are working with, as well as expand our community garden at LongArm, which can feed locals.

Our hearts are for Malawi, the warm heart of Africa, and we are so honored you are a part of this world-changing community.

Because of your support we are able to bring a food forest initiative to life. We were able to donate FOURTY banana trees.

In 9 to 12 months we will see the fruit of our investments for up to 6 years

If you want to be a part of our food forest & name a tree, you can be a part of the vision by donating now!

Distributing bicycles to child run households, single mothers, and widows is one way we can bring life change to Malawi. We had a dream, and YOU have made it possible. We were able to buy TWELVE bicycles with the help of our sponsors who brought this vision to life!

Bicycles provide not only access to life saving medical clinics for villagers in far to reach places, but also the opportunity to sell their harvest at the nearest market without walking for hours. We traveled 3.5 hours to a remote village last visited in 2020. They told us they were reminded God has not forgotten them.

We never will either.
